The report from Strategy Analytics reveal the Galaxy S III has sold 18 million units. While the iPhone 4S is only achieved sales of 16.2 million units. A great move from Samsung vendor to beat Apple on smartphone market.
Meanwhile, although the Galaxy S III sales managed to surpass the iPhone 4S in terms of sales, the iPhone 5 has been successfully achieved 6 million units sold since its launch in the first quarter.
In terms of market share, Galaxy S III grabbed 10.7 percent of global smartphone market share. The combination of the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 has a total market share of 13.3 percent.
"Whatever be the position the Galaxy S III as the best-selling smartphone world are unlikely to be long-lived," said Executive Director at Strategy Analytics, Neil Mawston.
